Digital arrest, it is not difficult to show mirror to the fraudsters.

Fraud in the name of digital arrest is not stopping in the country. In the 115th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while appealing to be alert about digital arrest, had also given a mantra to the people to avoid it, stop. Think and take action. Despite this, people are falling into the trap of fraudsters. And are losing their hard earned money. Believing anyone and considering every scene to be true and stopping believing in oneself and considering the scenes of uniform, documents, court room, police office etc. seen on the screen to be true, such weakness becomes the guarantor of dangerous crime. This weakness arises from the fear of putting one's honor at stake.
In today's time, a person dressed like a policeman gets a call through WhatsApp or Skype that the parcel sent by you or the parcel coming to your address has been caught, which contains dangerous drugs, sometimes it is said that a fake passport or fake currency has been caught, such calls are made in the name of CBI, Police, Narcotics Department, Customs, Cyber Police, ED or any such government agency, sometimes a fictitious case of money laundering is shown to be registered, or sometimes this fraud is done by informing about the arrest of the son or daughter in some serious crime, while weaving any such trap, the cyber thugs definitely collect some basic information about the person concerned.  So that the victim can be assured that they (fake officer) have all the information, after this they extract the information from their victim by engaging him in talks and by creating fear, on whom the trap is thrown, after that after talking for some time the cheater comes to know whether he will become their victim or not, from the fear and sound of the trap on your face they start realizing whether their trap is getting tight or not?
There is no such word as digital arrest in legal books. There is no such thing as digital arrest in our country. There is no provision for any digital arrest. Still, why are people scared so much by the word digital arrest that they stop making normal arguments and start acting according to the words of the fraudsters, believing them to be true. The answer to this is given by Uttarakhand psychologist Dr. Kanchan Yadav. She says that this entire network of fraud is connected to conveying power, which is strong in the fraudsters and they also know the tricks of manipulation very well. They start talking to the person in front of them and gauge how much and how their words are affecting that person. Dr. Kanchan says that these fraudsters have a lot of knowledge about human behavior and weakness. To present themselves as true, they create fear by creating a so-called digital hearing in the court room or by creating a fake set of CBI or police office. They also inspire the other person to take a wrong decision by expressing sympathy and praising his ability to take the right decision. Usually, they are easy victims.  Those people who are already struggling with some problem due to some reason, their self-confidence is low
To take a major business of Punjab to Jhansi, the fraudsters had prepared a film-like set of a court room to create the illusion of an online hearing in the Supreme Court. The experienced and very intelligent businessman, awarded with Padma Vibhushan, handed over about Rs 7 crore of his hard-earned money to the fraudsters. He was so scared that he called his manager and transferred the money to the account, but he was also not told to whom and why a large amount was being sent. In this way, the people who fell prey to the fraud by falling prey to the trap of digital arrest include retired officers, professors, engineers, doctors, etc., highly educated and people with all the bitter and sweet experiences of life. According to the report of the Home Ministry of May 14, 2024, these fraudsters usually call the potential victim and sometimes also tell that a poor or dear person of the victim has been found involved in a crime or accident and is in his custody. Money is demanded from the concerned person to settle the matter.
In some cases, unsuspecting victims have to undergo digital arrest and remain visible to the fraudsters on Skype or other video conference platforms until their demands are met. Believe me,
it is not at all difficult to avoid this fraud in the name of digital arrest, just a little caution and patience is required but for this, first of all it is necessary to understand that there is no such thing as digital arrest, instead of getting scared on seeing the photo of a person in uniform when such a fraud calls, if you are asked to talk to your nearest police station or lawyer, then the whole problem can end there itself, no government agency inquires over the phone or online, this fact should be enough to remove your fear, it is also important that if you have picked up a call from such a fraud with an unknown number, then instead of getting trapped in his trap and giving all your information, you can disconnect the phone, you can see whether long chatting can be dangerous?  When a fraudster calls, giving them correct information by telling them that the bank account, Aadhaar or any other information received from them is wrong is no less dangerous. OTP should not be shared under any circumstances. You should trust yourself more than cyber fraudsters. The Home Ministry suggests that on receiving such calls, contact the cyber crime helpline number 1930 or report the incident on cybercrime.gov.in. If you take precautions, then it is certain that cyber fraudsters cannot harm you.
